'Edith', a short film about love, loss, romantic love and sex in old age, is the title of a gradation film being made by Northern Film School, BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production students.

Leeds Met has been offering the opportunity to learn about the potential use and benefits of e-portfolios and social media tools via a live Twitter feed.

Learn to live (13th January 2010)
Leeds Met has secured £68,500 of Government funding to deliver free skills sessions to people who have been hit by the economic downturn. Free sessions are being offered in community rugby clubs in areas such as Web Design, Business, Events Management, Health and Sport, with the next sessions taking place in Keighley and Wakefield from Monday 1 to Thursday 4 February.

Designs on the community (13th January 2010)
Final year undergraduate and postgraduate students in Landscape Architecture and Garden Art & Design have been presenting their design portfolios and showcasing the design process to their community clients and other invited guests at an event held at Old Broadcasting House this week.

Mark Graham, an MA Urban Design graduate, was awarded the Gillespies Fraser Teal MA Urban Design Award by urban and landscape design consultants Gillespies, for his dissertation on 'Steps Towards a Walkable Manchester: Designing the Walkable City'.

An evening of cartoon films (12th August 2009)
New York artist Dan Meth made a stop at Leeds Met on Thursday evening, on his way to showing his work at the Edinburgh Film Festival later this month. Dan, who trained as an illustrator at Syracuse University, exhibited a series of his cartoon films at nti based in Old Broadcasting House.
