Joe GilmoreJoe Gilmore is the Interactive Media judge.

Joe is a graphic designer, curator and multi-disciplinary artist working in Leeds.

He runs Qubik Design, a studio specialising in typographic-led graphic design for branding, print and digital media. His distinct graphic sensibility has led him to work with a wide range of clients in the cultural and commercial sector including: RIBA; Channel 5; Museu d'Art Contemporani Barcelona; Grafik Magazine; Artangel; Sound & Music; No.w.here; The Media Centre Network, Leeds Metropolitan University; Lumen; Leeds International Film Festival; and Opera North.

His artistic practice is mainly concerned with sound, although also includes work for CD, Internet, software, video, installation and performance. His most recent work centres around multichannel sound installations which rely on generative or autonomous systems for the creation and distribution of digital sound.

His work has been exhibited at various digital art festivals and galleries including Lovebytes (Sheffield), VIPER International Festival for Film and New Media (Basel), Sonar (Barcelona), The Medialounge (Huddersfield), Read_Me Software Art Festival (Denmark) and ZKM (Zentrum fur Kunst und Medienteknologie, Karlsruhe). His recorded works have been published internationally on several record labels including: 12k/Line (New York), Entr'acte (London), Cut (Zürich), Fällt (Belfast) and Leonardo Music Journal (San Francisco).

Joe is currently a part-time lecturer in the department of Graphic Design at Leeds College of Art & Design. He is also a founding member of The School of Interactive and Algorithmic Art.
